Gyeonggi Future Technology School, the cradle of nurturing future technology

Gyeonggi Future Technology School, the cradle of nurturing future technology talents

will train 110 professionals in 5 courses in preparation for the 4th industrial revolution and the transition to a low-carbon industrial system this year.

Gyeonggi Future Technology School is a project introduced and operated by Gyeonggi Province last year to nurture experts in future technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data suitable for changing industrial demands such as the advent of the 4th industrial revolution.

In particular, by setting up customized education and training bases in northern Gyeonggi Province, where vocational education facilities are lacking, campuses are installed and operated in Guri, Goyang, and Uijeongbu to foster future technical talents to lead the local industry.

This year, in line with the global trend of transition to a low-carbon industrial system, in addition to the existing three courses of artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud, the 'low-power semiconductor design manpower training course' will be newly launched and operated.

Among them, the artificial intelligence course is for 25 students at the Goyang campus, the big data course is for 25 students at the Guri campus, and the cloud course is for 40 students (20 operation experts, 20 Java developers) in Uijeongbu. takes place on campus.

The newly opened 'low-power semiconductor design manpower training course' is scheduled to educate 20 people, and the program will be operated in connection with local universities to be selected through a public contest in February in the first half of the year.

To this end, it operates a program tailored to the company by actively cooperating with future innovation companies such as KT, Samsung SDS, and Naver Cloud, which signed a 'Gyeonggi-do Future Technology School Promotion Business Agreement' with Gyeonggi-do last year.

The instructors will be composed of experts from low-carbon and IT fields, and practical-oriented education and training will be conducted for six months, such as carrying out practical projects. The training hours have also been significantly increased from 850 hours last year to 960 hours this year.

In addition, various forms of education are being implemented to improve the quality of education by actively responding to the new era of normalization caused by COVID-19: B. mixed (face-to-face + non-face-to-face ),1:1 on/offline, and in-depth learning for trainees.

In particular, considering the high barriers to entry into the curriculum and equipment used for the 'Carbon Neutral Field', we plan to provide education and opportunities for equipment and practice in connection with universities with know-how in the field.

This course will be conducted from April to October of this year after going through procedures such as recruiting trainees. Recruitment of trainees will be announced later through the Gyeonggi-do website.

Hyun Byung-Cheon, head of the Jobs and Economic Policy Division, said, “I hope that the Gyeonggi Provincial Future Technology School will become a representative project that nurtures future talents suitable not only for the 4th industrial revolution but also for the low-carbon industrial system. We will continue to work hard,” he said.
